There are some great advantages to upgrading from a storage tank water heater to an ultra-efficient tankless water heater system. Often also referred to as on-demand hot water heaters or instantaneous hot water heaters, the technology has come a long way over the past 10-years and we think that the units are now at the forefront of water heating comfort and convenience. Today’s models take up very little space, especially compared to their more numerous storage tank cousins. Couple this with the fact that they never run out of hot water and that their efficiency levels are often over 40% better, and you’ve got a winning combination.

The Bosch Greentherm 9000 Series gas tankless water heater

On this project, we installed a brand new Bosch Greentherm 9000 Series tankless water heater, with ultra efficient condensing technology and a UEF up to 0.96. This job was an upgrade from a traditional storage tank water heater. The customer was looking for a little more capacity, as well as some higher energy savings and the new Bosch really fit the bill. The great thing about this particular installation, was that we were really able to get creative on space savings, and were able to safely position the unit just behind the existing furnace. In addition to being super efficient, this unit is one of the quietest operating models we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Fun fact, there is no need to install a set of service valves with the Bosch since they are built into the unit internally.
